we had a slug of rain koching towards us. that's i-83. well, that's north east of chestnut ridge. taking a look at the day part, we're seeing a return to sunshine. if it's quicker than -- well, if we get into the bright conditions [no audio] that's going to be a little bit warmer. one thing's for sure, temperatures in the 50s and by the week's end. it's going to be getting great.

dies saving her son's life. >> reporter: the 17-year-old mother was out in the county pushing her baby in a stroller across a busy intersection and then, a pickup truck intercepted her path. >> reporter: this 17-year-old died while trying to cross this road with her son. she pushed his stroller out of the way as a truck hit her. [ indiscernible ] >> reporter: witnesses watched her walk to a bus stop. >> he slammed on the brakes an it was too late. the lady had the stroller and as soon as the -- well, i guess she pushed the stroller out the way and she was hit underneath the truck.

>> reporter: the driver hasn't been charged. >> they're not sure why he lost control or what happened to him that caused him to strike the woman. >> that was the third accident in two weeks coming off of the ramp here. report her family is heart broken, but thankful they saved the son. >> we're happy, we have the baby. >> reporter: the woman lives here in patterson park and it comes as no surprise she did what she did. >> charges are still possible against the driver. >> >> the police are trying to find out how a fire truck went down a hill and head on into a tree. the investigates will now take a closer look into the vehicle.

>> they're actively investigating how the brake was released. firefighters were treated for minor i think -- injuries and the children were exploring the truck as a birthday celebration. the police are asking for your help. troy trailer and another man were behind a home invasion and anyone with information is asked to contact police. the four kicked in the door of a home and stole laptops and video game systems. a curtis bay home was robbed in broad daylight and the thief wasn't after money. the woman who lives there is pleading for the return of her puppy. a 9 week old puply dog napped thursday and his owner hasn't stopped crying. >> can't eat, can't sleep. i'm up smoking almost 4 packs a

day. >> he an american bully, that's a new breed and she paid 4000 for him. >> just to think, someone would do this to me. it's horrible. he's just not a dog, that was my baby. >> reporter: while she was gone last thursday, a witness saw a man opening the door and grabbing the puppy and run to the car. a camera took pictures of the car and the police arrested this man for the dog napping and he said he doesn't know where the dog is. dog thefts are on the rise and it's difficult to track how often it happens. money is usually the motive and stolen dogs can be resold and gifted and harmed. and animal advocates advise micro chipping your pet. >> a thief may back down if he knows you're on the lookout. if you put the pressure on, he may give it up. that's why you want to keep on

partner to vouch for hem them and one said they declined. >> and there's a story, there's a thread connected by goad. >> reporter: goldman connect -- by greed. . today's hearing will come a day after the financial reform bill. the it happens failed to get the 60 votes necessary and the republicans say they're committed to reform. but not this way. anne arundel county police are identifying the officer involved in last week's glen burnie shooting. the officer tased a man twice after he saw him attacking his girlfriend and the officer hit him with a shot. and the officer is on administrative leave. the man is in shock trauma.

and also here, a woman is hailed as a hero as she dies trying to save her son's life. and mike schuh has the story. >> reporter: good morning, don and everyone. the 17-year-old mother was pushing the stroller across a busy intersection in baltimore county and then, her path was intercepted by a pickup truck. she tried to cross this street with her 14 month old son. she pushed the stroller out of the way as a struck hit her. more than 20,000 outages were reported areawide. your commute should be easier this morning. the flooded lanes are now back to normal. down south, 12 are confirmed dead after an ef-4 tornado that swept through. one woman died in mississippi saving the lives of her three young sons sheltering them under a mattress as she layed on top of it. also, there was a sinkhole due to rain in st. louis, missouri. that's a big hole. and imagine, instead of going to bed last night, staying up and going to a college class. that's what could happen in maryland. kelly mcpherson reports on a new form of midnight madness.

they would bring housing developments into habitats, i've always wondered why don't the animals protest and you have them doing so. >> and yes, they're not animated and there are some little tricks we do and dream sequences and brendan didn't want them to speak and he wanted them to be, well, all of what they would do normally and we had trainers for them with months and a full camp of all of the an mas and baby skunks and it was important that the echo message had a truth to it in so far as we had people on set that were sort of the ranklers for recycling and not using too much water. as a mom, you can take the kids to it.
